Frequently asked questions
Is Nivaar Exam Prep free?
Yes. Every worked solution is free to read, and you do not need an account.
Which exams are covered?
Past academic (technical) exams of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC): 14,492 worked questions from 1,983 papers in 23 disciplines. Start from Solutions and pick your discipline, subject and sitting.
Who writes the solutions?
They are drafted by AI, checked by automated structural and numerical scripts, and spot-checked by the operator, who is an engineering graduate and not a licensed professional engineer. No licensed engineer reviews them. How we make the solutions has the details.
Can I rely on the answers?
Not on their own. The solutions may contain errors, so check them before you rely on them.
Why can't I see the question on the solution page?
The exam questions are © Engineers and Geoscientists BC, so we do not reproduce them. Every page links to EGBC's past-papers page: open the paper there, read the question, then follow the worked solution here.
Are past papers enough to pass?
EGBC says they should not be your main method of study, because current exams can differ in format and content. Study the syllabus for your discipline and its recommended textbooks first, then use past papers and these solutions for practice. How EGBC's academic exams work covers what the syllabus is and where to find it.
Where do I find this session's dates, formats and permitted aids?
On EGBC's Status of Online Academic Exams page, which EGBC updates for each session. It posts the exam schedule, whether each exam is open or closed book, and the calculator rule.
Is Nivaar connected to EGBC?
No. Nivaar is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by EGBC, Engineers Canada or any other regulator. EGBC's own position is that it does not endorse any third-party exam preparation service.
I found a mistake. What should I do?
